Healthcare Leadership (B.S.)
We often say that our programs are “career-focused” because they’re designed to get you from the classroom to a rewarding job while accommodating life’s responsibilities. But a career isn’t just a means to earn money. For students like Berneice Mills-Thomas, it’s also a chance to make a difference.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Berneice turned her B.S. in Health Care Leadership and M.S. in Management from NLU into a leadership position at a local organization that improves healthcare access in low-income Chicago communities. Both degree programs gave her job-specific knowledge and critical thinking skills that have helped her advance in her career.
Berneice was a working mother when she enrolled, and she says that financial support and flexible scheduling made it possible for her to obtain her degrees. Now, she’s a force for good in the communities she serves and the healthcare industry. It’s no wonder she was inducted into the National Association of Community Health Centers Hall of Fame.
